It is CIAA weekend here in Charlotte, and all I have to say is PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!!!
Well, I promised you I had some surprises coming down the pike, and I can now let one of the cats out of the bag (I think that's how the saying goes!) Now that the manuscript is done, I can focus on other projects and my calendar is one of them. Oh yeah, I'm getting ahead of myself... the proof came yesterday and it is on it's way back to the printer for publication. I also received 5,000 wonderful flyers designed by a very talented young man named Lamont who is the CEO of OHmyniceflyers!
As I was saying, I have been eager to display my poetry in a calendar that highlights the everyday brother. The ones that are holding it down for their families and communities. A lot of times when we see calendars with brothers on them, they are represented as eye candy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking "eye candy" calendars, I like a little eye candy myself, but I wanted to represent my brothas in a multi-dimensional facet. So, look for details to follow on the website in a few months and start dusting off those presentable photos:)
