Words Cannot Express...

The past few days have been quite overwhelming for me in terms of trying to absorb the goodness of God. It almost brings me to tears when I think about His mercy and grace.

I had the privilege of hearing the prolific Joyce Carol Oates speak yesterday, and one of the things she said that struck me like a bolt of lightening was that every writer has to find her/his own voice. Of course I've heard those words many times before, but for some reason when she said it in that space and time, the light bulb went off for me. It confirmed my destiny. More oft than not, we spend a lot of time trying to fit the mold society has designed for us, but what I got when she said those worrds, is that we are all individuals in a collective mass of energy, time and space.

So today when I arrive home, and two copies of my book await me, the sight of them take my breath away. This tangible book that I hold in my hands represent the vision, faith, tenacity, fortitude, hunger and example of what is possible. But more importantly for me, it represents the faithfulness of God.

Peace and blessings,
M
