Crank It Up!

Listened to Steve Harvey let Spirit use him as he spoke to the brothas this morning in his opening tribute to God on his radio show. My God how he allows himself to be used as a vessel! I wanted every brotha in the world to hear what Steve was saying. Briefly, he asked brothas to step to the plate and take care of our babies, even if they aren't theirs. He asked them to take a fatherless neighborhood child to a game, or to the park. His challenge to brothas was so authentic, real and powerful. Steve says things that only a man could say to another man! Praise God for you Steve, you truly are a blessing. How humble to hear a man say that only by the grace of God is he where he is and had it not been for God he didn't know where he'd be.

I'm not the kind of person that likes to have God shoved down my throat because I've had my share of that growing up as a child, so I am a bit rebellious when it comes to certain topics regarding religion. Yet on the other hand, I love to hear about personal, authentic relationships with God, the ones where the person really lets you in on what they're going through and how God is guiding and providing for them despite the fact that they ain't got it all together. Trust me, I can relate to those stories! Anyway, thanks Steve, you are a great inspiration to me and others I am sure!

So as things begin to come to fruition for me, I get excited about the faithfulness of God. I watch as God fulfill many of His promises He made to me a long ago, and it brings tears to my eyes as I type these words because even though I doubted ya'll, He kept His word. Timing, seasons, reaping, faithfulness, perseverance, hope, trust, having it be ok either way, doing my part, tuning out my own negative voices and others, believing in myself, loving myself, going on despite what it looked like, the appearance of limited finances...I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. He is real and He is good and the only proof of that I need is the breath in my body.

Until next time,
take care of yourself and one another,
peace and love,
M
