I'm just going to get straight to the point... I went to the funeral of one of my co-workers son's today (God bless the Ravenell family) and I tell you what, if you have anyone that you love, cherish and adore, you'd better let them know. We say it all the time - life is short, but until it hits home or close to home, you don't really understand the brevity of life. I'm here to tell you that everything I thought was a big problem in my life all of a sudden got minimized to a grain of sand. Even the big toe on my left foot that I found out today I broke on Father's Day running up a flight of stairs with my daughter. Before the funeral, it was the highlight of my latest complaints and long list of inconveniences. Ha! All a matter of perspective.
I am making a pledge and a commitment to Marina to live every moment to the fullest. That means being with the sadness, pain, joy, happiness and every other emotion life brings. I am committing myself to embracing it all with equal vigor. I can choose.
Until next time, don't just live life, suck from it!!!!
Peace and blessings,
M
